For referring dentists

Two specialists, full scope. Periodontics and oral medicine, in Pretoria.

Dr Christa Blignaut and Dr Leande Kotze both trained as specialists in periodontics and oral medicine, and now practise together in Pretoria East. We make referrals easy, keep you informed, and return your patient to you for ongoing care.

The team

A specialist practice built around a smooth referral experience.

The team at Blignaut & Kotze is set up to make referrals effortless — acknowledgement within two business days, a clear treatment summary back to you, and your patient returned for ongoing general care.

The Refer & Return Promise

Refer with confidence. Receive your patient back.

Seven commitments we make to every referring dentist — and what they mean in practice.

Your patientSpecialist consultationReturned to you
  1. 01

We acknowledge receipt of every referral.

You hear back from us — usually the same day — confirming the patient details and the next step.

  2. 02

    We contact your patient promptly.

Your patient hears from us within one to two business days to book their consultation.

  3. 03

We keep you informed at every step.

Treatment plans, any changes, completion notes — everything reaches you in writing.

  4. 04

We send a clear, structured treatment summary.

Findings, what we did, what comes next. Written so it slots straight into your patient's record.

  5. 05

We do not take over your patient.

Our scope is the specialist work you referred for. Routine dentistry stays with you. We don't recommend additional treatment outside the referral question without checking with you first.

  6. 06

We return your patient for ongoing care.

When the specialist work is complete, your patient comes back to you for maintenance and the rest of their general dental care.

  7. 07

    We're available for clinical questions.

Direct WhatsApp and phone access to either doctor for cases you want a second specialist opinion on.

How to refer

Three working channels, per doctor.

Send the patient's name, contact details, and a short note on the reason for referral. We acknowledge receipt and contact your patient within one to two business days.

Referral books

Download a fillable referral form.

Prefer paper, or your own practice-management workflow? Download the referral book for either specialist. Type into it and email it back, or print a stack for the front desk.

For GPs, ENT, dermatology & oncology

Oral medicine referrals are welcome from medical colleagues.

Both doctors are specialists in periodontics and oral medicine. We assess and manage mucosal and oro-facial conditions referred by medical practitioners — persistent mouth ulcers, white or red patches, suspected lichen planus or other immune-mediated mucosal disease, burning mouth, unexplained oral pain, dry mouth, and any lesion where a biopsy would settle the question.
